This topic has probably been brought up again and again but I couldn’t help but think about it while I was leveling my unmodded bronco prime.
I get that affinity gain can’t be super easy in order to give people a reason to purchase affinity boosters, but the fact that the optimal way to gain weapon mastery is to equip the weapon being leveled and another stronger weapon, and then leach affinity from other peoples’ kills to the weapon you’re leveling just feels wrong.
Taking advantage of stealth modifiers is probably the only other reasonable way to farm affinity, and that also starts to get a bit dry after having to forma a single weapon 3-6 times. It also doesn’t work for weapons that can’t kill enemies very fast.
Any thoughts about this? I really don’t know how the affinity gain system should be overhauled, but imho it’s current rendition feels pretty bad especially for weaker weapons that struggle to kill anything.
