Breeding, currently, is an obtuse and confusing system which could be much better with some minor tweaks. So we're all on the same page let me sum up the differences across the various Pet classes:
- Kubrow: can only be imprinted a maximum of 2 times
- Kavat: can be imprinted a maximum of 3 times
- Helminth Charger: can't be imprinted at all and can't be bred using imprints, only randomly
- Predasites: can only be imprinted a maximum of 2 times, inherits parent Polarities through antigens
- Vulpaphyla: can be imprinted a maximum of 3 times, inherits parent Polarities through antigens
This is what a standardized system would look like without any gameplay changes:
- All pets, including Helminth Chargers, can be imprinted 3 times and Preds/Vulpa inherit parent Polarities through antigens
And this is what I'd propose for an improved completely standarized system with minor tweaks:
- All pets can be imprinted 3 times
- All pets can be given Polarities through antigens and pass them to offspring
- All imprints display the natural colours on each of the appearance slots. Currently these colors along with their names CAN be found on the wiki, but require you to basically hold a color chart next to your pets' fur and make a best guess
And finally some tweaks I'd like that are more QoL than anything else:
- Breeding time reduced to 12 hours instead of 24 (with Nutrio)
- Reduction in cost for Kavat Gene Codes from 10 to 5 and/or a more reliable way to acquire them (Teasonai?)
- Ability to keep using Pets while a new one is being incubated
- Ability to see a Pet's final appearance before incubation is complete
- Ability to take imprints before Pet is matured for combat
- Ability to donate/sell unwanted imprints for credits/resources/standing/etc...
- Consumable to create a Vasca Kavat without needing to get your Kavat bit each and every time (from Teasonai?)
- Consumable to create a Helminth Charger without needing to keep a Warframe infected with the Helminth Zit (from Helminth/Son?)
- Separation of Predasite/Vulpaphyla cosmetic changes and gameplay changes (polarities/resistances)
