The frame uses a borrowed body, the actual frame is just the head and a "spine" tail.
You can leave your body any time and using an ability you lock any human sized enemy in place and make him invulnerable (so teammates can't kill him as you need him) for a few seconds. You then fly towards it and take his body for yourself. The body then transforms in the usual frame's body and by doing that you gain stacking armor and HP.
Then maybe the body left behind becomes either a bomb or a powerful minion that follows you.
While on "floating head" form you gain dodge (or DR) being hard to hit.
Leaving a body removes all statuses.
I don't know, i was just brainstorming.
